Tula Pink and Halloween, an Epic Match Made in the Afterlife!

January 28, 2018

Last year I found a Quilt-a-Long (QAL) for the Epic Halloween quilt at Flying Parrot Quilts and instantly fell in love. The problem was that I found it about a year too late, so a lot of the fabrics that were used in their quilt were no longer available.

Like most quilters, I will hold on to patterns for a long time just waiting for the perfect fabric to use in it, or the opposite. I’ll hold onto fabric just waiting for the perfect pattern! In fact, I have had this fat quarter bundle for almost two years and finally found the perfect pattern for it! I’ll post more on that next week!

So, this morning I was perusing through some of the new fabric lines coming out later this year and Tula Pink’s new line, De La Luna, caught my immediate attention. I am so excited, this is the most perfect fabric collection for that Epic Halloween QAL!!!

It’s not just the colors that are perfect, it is the size of the prints as well. The QAL is mostly paper pieced, so the small, all-over prints are perfect for the small pieces.  The Possessed prints will work well as large filler pieces between blocks.

The Clairvoyant prints are already kind of spooky, but I can see them adding a little extra creepiness to the windows of the haunted house or in the potion bottles.

So, this July I’ll finally be able to start on my Epic Halloween Quilt using this awesome line. I hope some of you Tula Troops will join me on this epic paper piecing QAL adventure!
